60th Anniversary CH24 Wishbone

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of Danish design legend Hans Wegner’s famous CH24 Wishbone chair, manufacturer Carl Hansen has produced a limited edition in four shades of green.

Echoing Wegner's credo that "The good chair is a task one is never completely done with," the green series is the second group to be released this year, with a blue series preceding.

This October, SUITE New York proudly presents the latest color in the anniversary series, pink. In honor of breast cancer awareness month, for one year SUITE New York and Carl Hansen will donate 20% of the chair's proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). For that year, SUITE New York will sell the pink Wishbone exclusively.

In addition, SUITE New York has collaborated with twenty of the top women interior designers in the US and UK to create the Pink Wishbone Project. The project entails each designer creating a one-of-a-kind cushion for the pink chair. The twenty cushions and chairs will debut at Barneys New York on Oct. 7th at a kick-off event that includes BCRF's co-founder, Evelyn Lauder. From Oct. 7th until the end of the month, the unique chairs will be available for purchase through charitybuzz.com, with 100% of their proceeds benefitting BCRF.

The Wishbone’s lacquered beech frame has a white papercord seat, which beautifully offsets the varieties of green, blue and pink. These colored chairs look wonderful as a group or on their own. Considered by many to be Wegner’s most successful design, the Wishbone remains as modern and fresh as when it debuted in 1950.
