The Appenzeller series explores a dialogue between the applied arts and fine arts—shaped by a distinct culture of eighteenth century handicrafts from Eastern Switzerland. Appenzeller belts are a prime example of legacy Swiss craft—made for hundreds of years and ornamented with metal fittings. The more decoration a belt had, the higher the individual’s status was. This multifunctional wooden cabinet features two drawers and doors with an adjustable shelf in each for versatile storage. A cord escape out the bottom keeps its profile neat. Luxe details—solid brass knobs, traditional ornaments from Appenzell and soft-closing hardware—make this unit as attractive as it is practical.
